2 bizzare

SPOILER WARNING, DEAL OR NO DEAL, 3/19
Deal or No Deal, in combat with the premire of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, ran a special episode yesterday night. The first round featured twins, once again with a "Double Deal" game. Unlike the first set of twins, though, these twins got to pick TWO cases. Come on, this gives the contestants SIX TIMES the shot at a $1,000,000+ jackpot than any single contestant! Will these Double Deal games get retired as quickly as Double Double Prices?

And as for picking random contestants, I don't think that has much of a future. You'd think DonD would pick a contestant that actually knew how to play! Mabye add a qualifying round like the Aussie version or Vas o No Vas.

Millionare-6th results+Identity comeback

Very very sorry about the long hiatus. I've been very sick the past week.

First, Identity. I can appreciate it a lot more now that I've seen the crap that Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader is offering. And last night, for the second time, $500,000 was won. After 6 episodes, you would never expect $1,000,000 to be won on Millionare, 1 vs. 100, or Deal or No Deal. Come to think of it, any show with a top prize over $100,000 would take at least a month to be won. And while it's not a million bucks, $500,000 is still a pretty penny and now has been won twice in 6 episodes. Make it a litle harder, say, 15 strangers? And while you're at it, get rid of Penn Jillette. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's scared of him.

Now, for Millionare. The questions should narrow down the playing field considerably.

If you take the day Press Your Luck premired and went back in time the number of episodes in Ken Jennings' Jeopardy! run(assuming that one episode equals one day, even on weekends), what day would that be?
A) Sunday B) Tuesday
C) Thursday D) Saturday

This one was super hard(it was C). 5 Ask-the-audiences were used as well as two 50-50s. Oh, and only 3 people got it wrong.

guessed A and D, in that order. Sorry.

If you used a lifeline, let me give you a heads-up.

Press Your Luck premired on September 19, 1983. This is the 262nd day of 1983.
Ken Jennings was Jeopardy! champion for 74 episodes.

262
- 74
___
188th day of 1983, or July 7th. Incedentally, July 7th, 1983 is a Thursday.

Now for the $4,000 Question...

If you solved the original Da Vinci Code Webquest, you'd get a message to call a phone number. What is the sum of th digits in that phone number?

A)28 B)33
C) 36 D)46

Hint: Play the Da Vinci Code Webquest Here: http://www.randomhouse.com/doubleday/davinci/

Due by, oh I'll give you some time, March 24th.

The questions from here on out will get a bit more 1 vs. 100 style, e.g., you need more than one bit of knowledge to answer the question.

A) Sunday B) Tuesday

You have until March 14, 11:59 P.M. EST (or 10:59 Central, 9:59 Mountain, or 8:59 Pacific) to submit your final answer, and if you can figure out the above question, I sure don't need to tell you what March 14, 2007 is.

A) Deal or No Deal B) Wheel of Fortune
C) The Price is Right D) Who Wants to Be a Millionare?

I don't think it's standard for a form af a quiz show to be one of its own answers, but nevertheless, the game we're playing now, Millionare, is D. Send in your results by March 5, 11:59 P.M. Eastern (or 10:59 Central, 9:59 Mountain, or 8:59 Pacific).

Are You Dumber Than a FOX Producer?

I don't know where to begin. Is this a joke? The contestants don't even know stuff like the Mayflower? And who in their right minds would but REM sleep under 4th grade Health Science? This show is a peice of manure. The contestants are peices of manure. The set is not a peice of manure, it actually is quite good. The questions are impossible. Impossibly easy, that is.

If the show is offering a $1,000,000 top prize, and if all you have to do is answer stupidly simple questions, I'll bet my laptop that every contestant has an IQ of 30. In fact, that would probably be closer to -30. If you want to try out for this show, call 1-800-IMA-BOZO.

FOX game shows are almost always ripoffs. The best game show FOX has ever come up with is easily Greed, and even that was part ripoff considering Who Wants to be a Millionare was such a hit and FOX needed an answer to it. For example, according to BuzzerBlog(http://buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com), FOX is ripping off a CBS show(http://buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com/?p=711). What do you think?

Millionare-3rd results

Last week's question...

$300
Which U.S. president on Mount Rushmore is 3rd from the left?
A) Abraham Lincoln B) Theodore Roosevelt
C) George Washington D) Thomas Jefferson

That would be B, Good ol' Teddy.

Wilbur and Tanner H had to Ask the Audience on this one, but our audience is a smart one. Good thing I got that matter about lifelines cleared up or we would have lost them along with Thex(see below)

Anyways, these people advance:

But sadly, Thex, who entered less than 10 miniutes before the deadline, guessed A and is out.

If you are one of the above, E-mail me the answer to this question:

How many electrons are in a helium atom?

A) 1 B) 2
C) 3 D) 4

Answers are due at Wednsday, 11:59 P. M. Eastern(or 10:59 Central, or 9:59 Mountain, or 8:59 Pacific).

Some FAQ I've got in my Inbox:

Q: Can I start on the 2nd or 3rd question?
A: No, it's too late for that. Play along if you want, but you were too late to be counted. Sorry.

Q: When I use a lifeline, what happens?
A: If you use 50:50, I e-mail you two randomly selected wrong answers. It is then up to you to figure out which of the two right answers are right and which is wrong.

Or you might use Ask the Audience. I've surveyed 20 people, and when you use your AtA, I send you a bar graph of the results.

There is no Phone-a-friend, instead, I will give you a Wild Card that can be used as one of the above lifelines.

There is no Switch the Question, Double Dip, Three Wise Men, or prize.

Q: When someone gets a question wrong, what happens?
A: They lose all lifelines, all "Money" (unless you hit $1,000, $32,000, or 1 Million), and are ejected from the game.

Any more Q&A, drop me a line, I may publish your question!

This week's question:

$300
Which U.S. president on Mount Rushmore is 3rd from the left?

A) Abraham Lincoln B) Theodore Roosevelt
C) George Washington D) Thomas Jefferson

You must give your answer by Thursday, 11:59 P.M. EST (or 10:59 Central, or 9:59 Mountian, or 8:59 Pacific).

New Game

SPOILER WARNING: THE PRICE IS RIGHT, 2/16

On The Price is Right today, I witnessed the premire of a new pricing game: More or Less. The game is played like this: 3 medium prizes, mabye between $500 to $5000, I'm guessing. (Don't yell at me if I get this wrong, I'd like to see you accurately predict the price range after only seeing one playing.) Oh, and did I mention a car? So anyways, a price is shown for the first prize, and the contestant must guess if the prize is more or less than that price. If they succeed, they move on to the next prize. I don't know if you advance if you get it wrong, mabye the game stops once you get one wrong, a la Triple play, or mabye you just play for the other 2 products to be fair to the contestant. Anyways, the other 2 are played in similar fashion, and if all 3 products are guessed correctly, the contestant moves on to the car. Presumably it's another more/less question, although that has been by no means confirmed.

Bob never said this was the premire, so I was wondering if these episodes were airing out of order, or if the premire was really a week ago and I missed it until I checked the Wikipedia article.

What do you think?
